By the President of the United States of America : To all and singular to whom these presents shall come, greeting: Whereas, a treaty between the United States of America and the Chippeway, Menomonie and Winnebago tribes of Indians, was made and concluded on the eleventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, at the Butte des Morts, on Fox River, in the Territory of Michigan, between Lewis Cass and Thomas L. M'Kenney, Commissioners on the part of the United States, and certain chiefs and warriors of the said tribes on the part of the said tribes .
