By order of His Excellency Sir William Howe, K.B. general and commander in chief, &c. &c. &c. Proclamation : I do hereby give notice to the inhabitants of the city of Philadelphia and its environs, it is the order of His Excellency, that "No person whatever, living within the said city and its environs, shall appear in the streets between the beating of the tattoo, at half an hour after eight o'clock in the evening, and the revellie in the morning, without lanthorns .
