"By these tables all land mensurations made in links, or at sea the miles of distances multiplied by 9266, and thus reduced into links, throughout the torrid and both temperate zones, may be reduced with ease and precision into degrees, minutes, and seconds, viz. those mensurations upon the meridians reduced in the difference of latitude, and those on the parallels in the difference of longitude; as is shewn in the example prefixed to the tables."--t.p.
