Given under my hand at Hartford, the second day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-five .

March 2, 1785 broadside issued by Governor Matthew Griswold of Connecticut, proclaiming April 20th as a day of fasting and prayer to request God to forgive all the people's transgressions.
