Communication from the auditor of public accounts relative to the necessary increase of taxation, responsive to a Senate resolution : March 23, 1861

March 22, 1861 Auditor's communication to the Senate, regarding the needed increase in the rate of taxation, if any, necessary to defray the expenses and present and anticipated liabilities of government. The Auditor concluded no increase was necessary.
