Item Description: | Vol. 1: pages 106-12 are bound out of order. The Genesee Farmer was founded in 1840 by John J. Thomas and M.B. Bateman, claiming descent from the original Genesee Farmer founded by Luther Tucker, and eventually united with the Cultivator and moved to Albany. Thomas and Bateman's magazine was devoted to agriculture and horitculture, and after 1842 was edited by such famous agricultural writers as Henry Colman and Joseph Harris. Cf.
