Item Description:Published by Thomas G. Condie, Jr., the Parlour Companion was a successor to the Juvenile Port-Folio, also edited by Condie. Like the Port-Folio, the Parlour Companion was a four-page weekly and was similar to it in content, but contained less variety and, in general, the first two pages contained installments of serilized tales, the third page contained anecdotes and miscellany, and the back page was devoted to poetry.
