Given at Norwich, the 21st day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, seven hundred and eighty-eight .

March 21, 1788 broadside issued by Governor Samuel Huntington of Connecticut, proclaiming April 17th as a day of fasting and prayer to request God to forgive all the people's transgressions, and in light of an insect infestation that reduced the harvest in many places.
