A proclamation : Whereas the honourable General Assembly ... passed an act ... that there be contributions in the several religious societies and congregations in this state ... to the support of such missionaries ... Given at the council chamber in Hartford, the 12th day of March, A.D. 1794 .
March 12, 1794 proclamation by Connecticut governor Samuel Huntington directing that in accordance with an act of the General Assembly, the congregations throughout the state make three annual contributions for the support of missionaries in the northern and western parts of the United States.
